Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an underwater coating device which discovers the abnormal point of the coating film of a structure by means of a video camera mounted at a robot and enables safe and smooth coating with remote operation. SOLUTION: This underwater coating device comprises a device body 1 which has a video camera 3, a perpendicular thruster 2 and a horizontal thruster 2' and is remote controllable outside a water tank, a surface prepn. device 4 which is installed to the lower part of the device body 1 and the coating device 5. The image by the video camera 3 is visually inspected outside the water tank, by which the abnormal point of the coating film is discovered.
